The Sounds Of The Earth, making music out of waste

The Sounds of the Earth is a collective of young musicians from a poverty struck area in Paraguay, playing instruments made out of what others consider to be waste...

This is 11 minutes of pure inspiration. “Landfill Harmonic” is an upcoming documentary about a tiny village called Cateura, built atop garbage, in Paraguay.

More specifically it is about Luis Szaran, Favio Chavez Moran, and a group of children who
play in an orchestra with instruments made of trash.

The amazing aspect to me is the fact it really sounds like the real instruments you could buy in
any given store. And it gives musicians the chance to play any instrument they desire. You just need to be creative and full of heart.

On rare occasion I wont write about Deep House music as such. But a certain spirit, project or idea that touches my musical mind.
This is one of those occasions.

As I tend to think that people who are into Deep House have an eclectic taste of music. Together with a wide scope of interests that knows no boarders like countries have on this planet.

Let me show you what it is about.

Landfill Harmonic / The Recycled Orchestra

Music should be available for every and any soul on this planet. Either to create themselves or to enjoy. No background, social status or education should be an objection.

And what is intelligence? When you look at people like Mozart I suppose it's creating music. When you I look at a person making an instrument out of garbage I would say it's creating the instruments to be played on. It's all genius really.

If I didn't have that great technology of this day and age to create or listen to electronic music I would probably do the same thing. Make my own and make some Deep House music using pots and pans. Luckily for all of you this isn't the case!

It would be great to hear of a project where traditional instruments are used to make electronic music, most of all Deep House. If any of you know of such a project. Be sure to let us know!

And we will put it into the spotlight... just like with all things that are worth sharing ;)

Cheers,
Tommy
